Security is a top priority in both public and private companies in the modern world. The security of a facility, its occupants, and its visitors is a responsibility shared by businesses, governments, and educational institutions. Organizations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, are investing in cutting-edge visitor management systems to do this in order to increase security and productivity.
Visitor management systems help organizations in Dubai, UAE to maintain a secure environment by identifying potential threats before they occur. The systems use a range of security measures such as ID verification, facial recognition, and biometric scanning to ensure that only authorized personnel can access restricted areas. Visitor management systems also enable security personnel to screen visitors against watchlists, alerting them to potential security threats.
Additionally, visitor management systems provide organizations with real-time information on the location of visitors, enabling security personnel to respond quickly to emergencies or security breaches. In the event of an emergency, security personnel can use the system to quickly identify visitors in the building and direct them to safety.

Check out some the brands that make Milan Design Week
Tumblr media
Milan Design Week has been one of the best leading events when it comes to defining international interior design trends Worldwide! Over the last years, it’s clear that more and more designers and brands (both Italian and international) have begun to invest more and more in this Milanese event which attracts millions and millions of design enthusiasts during the last couple of years.
This top design event first came to be all the way back in 1961. From focusing originally on Italian furniture to opening up to many more foreign brands, whether we’re talking about Salone del Mobile or Fuorisalone, there’s no doubt that this event has brought forward many interior designers as well as some of the most relevant projects in the interior design spectrum.
The brands that made the event
Every year Milan Design Week has managed to attract many design enthusiasts, so it’s only natural that some of the World’s top brands (Italian or foreign) would make it to the event. Every year they manage to marvel and amaze millions of visitors who are either there to get a chance at showing their own projects or simply to learn about the upcoming new trends of that year. Now, we delve a little deeper into some of the best projects by some of the world’s leading brands.
Armani
You can’t mention an Italian brand without including Armani’s name in the mix! One of the most marking entries by Giorgio Armani in the event has to be “The dream of living according to Giorgio Armani”, launched at the Armani Theatre. This exclusive event was an exhibition dedicated to all of Armani’s design projects, among them Queen’s Gate Place in London, the World Towers in Mumbai, the Armani Hotel in Dubai and Milan among many others.
You may also like: A little look at the Ancient Crafts Behind High-End Furniture Brands
Baccarat
Among many of the names that have collaborated for Baccarat, we can count those of Alain Moatti, Henri Rivière, Jaime Hayon, Michele de Lucchi, Philippe Starck, among many others. Some of these names were involved in many of the projects this brand has presented for Salone del Mobile, most notably the beautiful Philippe Starck’s ‘Marie Coquine Chandelier’, structured around an umbrella to create a unique ambiance.
David Chipperfield
One of the most noticeable products from Chipperfield is the all-wood family, specifically the Fayland table, the Fawley bench, and the Langley stool. The Fayland table was originally designed for a project in rural England, featuring a linear form and a clear structural concept. The three pieces were presented at Salone del Mobile, showing that they completed each other in any living room style.
Fendi
Being involved in the creation of luxurious furniture for around 30 years, it’s only natural that Italian brand Fendi Casa was involved in more than one initiative during this Milanese event. On last year’s edition, the brand presented a brand new collection designed by Parisian designer Thierry Lemaire. These furniture pieces consisted of several luxurious pieces including sofas, tables, lamps among many others. In this collection some cushions designed by late design legend Karl Lagerfeld all the way back in 1965.
Edra
Table Egeo was definitely one of the top furniture pieces that Edra has ever shown off during Milan Design Week. This table was heavily inspired by the glass tradition of the Brasilia table designed by the Campana brothers. In the case of this piece has a top in thick glass (that can be either black or gold), one central pedestal or legs. With a base made from tubular steel, this lovely table gives any dining room a unique touch of luxury.
Zaha Hadid Architects
Perhaps one of the most notable works for Milan Design Week from Zaha Hadid was the resulting chairs in collaboration with Nagami. Despite the chairs being all by the Spanish company, Zaha Hadid was responsible for the 3D painting of the chairs, alongside Ross Lovegrove and Daniel Widrig.
The collection, named “Brave New World: Re-thinking Design in the New Age of Technology”, essentially combined computational design and large-scale robotic 3D printing on the products with the goal of exploring new innovative ways of creating furniture that challenges the limits of imagination.
Roberto Cavalli
Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors is a recurring presence at this event, of course. Last year the brand presented a unique furniture collection filled with sparkling shades of citron, banana leaf print, and new animal patterns. In this collection, there was the Key West Swivel Armchair, the Tahiti Chaise Longue and the Acapulco Modular Bookcase, all of them with tropical touches to them, derived from Roberto Cavalli’s vision, philosophy, and style.
    Porada
One of the most noticeable entries from Porada to Milan Design Week has to be the Gargantua armchair in collaboration with Staffon Tollgard in Canaletto walnut with customizable upholstery in fabric or leather.
Seletti
Created in 1964 in Mantova Seletti has since then had a reputation for striving for improvement, innovation, and originality in all of their lighting designs. Every year during the Milan Design Week Seletti is the host for Design Pride, also known as “the most democratic party of the Milan Design Week”. This event, which takes place at the 5 VIE art + design and sponsored by the city of Milan, consists of a street parade that aims to celebrate creativity and design in a fun alternative way while showcasing some innovative design works by newcomers.
Luxury Living
The Luxury Living Group is also a group that never misses an edition on Milan Design Week every year. Owner of several well-known brands such as Fendi Casa, Bentley Home, Trussardi Casa. Every year some of the top brands in both Italy and around the world present some of the finest furniture ever seen.
B&B Italia
B&B Italia is another presence that makes Milan Design Week shine. we’re talking about one of the leading Italian companies in the international world of designer furniture. They create pieces for both home (B&B Italia Home Division) and contract (B&B Italia Contract Division).
This brand has presented in the last couple of year several works by designers such as  Antonio Citterio, Naoto Fukasawa, Piero Lissoni, Michael Anastassiades among many others. We’ve previously mentioned the Maxalto collection, designed and coordinated by Antonio Citterio, which features sophisticated chairs and seating systems with some new range extensions and new finishes made for pre-existing products of the brand.
Poltrona Frau
One of Poltrona Frau’s greatest highlights has to be, without a doubt, the Bretagne sofa. This exquisite piece provides new and elegant decorative combinations made from different and diverse materials. The seat cushions come in a new version with removable fabric cover which definitely helps in emphasizing their softness and comfort. Not to mention the fact that the frames, upholstered in Pelle Frau leather, create an overall effect of great visual and tactile warmth.
Poliform
Jean-Marie Massaud is a recurring collaborator with Poliform for around ten years which has resulted in over 40 pieces in the collections of the brand. One of the most notable furniture design pieces is the Mondrian sofa with complementing accessories of the Cosmos tables. This duo was inspired by the Dutch painter of the same name (Piet Mondrian), and the piece’s design is a clear reflection of the clean lines and asymmetrical balance that defines the most of his paintings.
You can also check out: 6 fantastic Dining Tables used by top interior designers in projects
Swarovski
Swarovsky Palazzo is something amazing to see every year. It consists of site-specific installation in a grand greenhouse set within a hidden courtyard of a neo-classical Milanese palazzo. In this exhibition spot that the new collections of the brand are unveiled alongside some home collections by several designers and brands such as Nendo, Patricia Urquiola, Peter Pilotto and John Pawson. Each year Atelier Swarovski presents a new home collection inspired and informed by a crystal with a presentation at the annual Milanese tradeshow.
A little preview of what’s to come at this year’s edition
So now that we’ve given you some of the main highlights that you can check out throughout the city as a whole, you’re probably wondering what’s coming for the 2019 edition right? This year’s edition will be celebrating DaVinci’s 500th anniversary of death. With that in mind, the fair organizers have two major installations planned to celebrate his life and legacy.
This year those who will be attending Salone del Mobile can expect o find a range of displays that will pay tribute to Renaissance ideas incorporating them into modern design. There’s also some buzz around “S Project”, a new display format expected to bring together multiple brands and products (both newcomers and usual guests) into one single space.
Tom Dixon
This year marks the return of Tom Dixon to Milan! The Manzoni is the new 100-cover restaurant has been created by Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio. The main reason behind the opening of this new establishment (which is both a restaurant and a showroom) was due to the fact that Tom Dixon and his team wanted to have a more permanent presence in Milan. The Manzoni is set to open during Milan Design Week 2019 and will also be showcasing three specific new collections: Fat, Spring, and Opal.
Nendo
Lastly, we have to mention Japanese brand Nendo that will be showing a certain project that was first introduced at IMM Cologne trade show and will also be making its way to Milan Design Week this year. Oki Sato worked alongside Venetian brand WonderGlass to create a series of cast glass chairs. The Melt collection features a chair comprised of an inverted arched base topped with a contrasting, flat pane of glass, and backed with a larger rectangle of glass.
Zanotta
One of the main novelties for this year’s edition of iSalone comes from the Italian brand Zanotta. This year they will be presenting a new set of tables entitled Enchino. The innovative feature going for these new products is the fact that instead of showing glass tables with metal legs, this new concept reverses these two elements by showing tables with metal surfaces and glass legs. There’s a lovely detail regarding the legs of the tables which are hand-blown in Venice by craftspeople using an ancient technique that dates back to DaVinci’s period which is fitting seen as this year the event will be dedicated to this Renaissance master’s life and legacy.

Landscape Escape: 20 of the Grandest Man-Made Terrains To Fall In Love With
Mother Nature is an artist. Our planet is home to countless natural landscapes that can take anyone’s breath away. It seems as if all the beauty in this world has been poured into these magnificent works of art, so we imitate them--or at least we try, so we can see them anytime we want. After all, who doesn’t like the view?
Maybe we won’t be able to copy nature in its entirety, but we surely can get close. With a good landscaping team and all the premium materials available, we can all have our own delightful scenery to swoon over!
  1. Kenrokuen Garden, Japan
Kenrokuen in Kanazawa is one of the finest examples of Japanese gardens. The spacious area used to be the outer garden of the Kanazawa castle. It was constructed by the ruling family at the time—Maeda--for nearly 200 years. It was first opened to the public in 1871. This garden is home to a large variety of flowering trees which provide the garden with a different look for every season change.
  2. Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden, Thailand
In 1954, Mr. Pisit and Nongnooch purchased a 600-acre land with intentions of developing the land as a fruit plantation. They eventually changed their mind and decided to turn it into a wildlife conservation project filled with tropical plants and flowers. The garden was opened to the public in 1980, and management was transferred to their son Kampon Tansacha in 2001. 500 out of 600 acres are currently vivid with floral colors.
  3. Keukenhof, Netherlands
Covering nearly 80 acres, Keukenhof (or Kitchen Garden) is easily one of the largest flower gardens in the world. Approximately 7 million bulbs are planted yearly in this park. Keukenhof is open yearly from mid-March to mid-May with the best time for viewing the tulips around mid-April, depending on the weather. You’ll want tulip here!
  4. Gardens of Versailles, France
No list of beautiful gardens will ever be complete without mentioning the Gardens of Versailles. Covering nearly 2000 acres of land, this landscape was designed by gardener Andre Le Notre who was commissioned in 1661 by no less than Louis XIV. More than 6 million visitors stroll the gardens yearly.
  5. Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, New York
It’s not every day that you find a 52-acre garden in the very heart of a metropolis. But that’s exactly what you can find in New York--the awe-inspiring Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Known for its 200 cherry trees, it takes center stage during month-long blossom festivals.
  6. Kew Royal Botanic Gardens, United Kingdom
Kew is more than just a scenic green space, it is also an internationally known research institution that employs hundreds of researchers and scientists. The garden is home to dozens of historic buildings such as the Victorian-era Palm House (image featured) and showcases more than 40000 species of plants.
  7. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, South Africa
The grand Kirstenbosch was established in 1913 with the goal to preserve the South African flora. The garden is around 90 acres by itself, but it is actually just one part of a 1300-acre nature reserve. The garden sits on the slopes of Table Mountain.
  8. Jardin Majorelle, Morocco
It took French painter Jacques Majorelle around 4 decades to craft this beloved garden around his villa in Marrakech. It is highly noted for the luminous blue paints of its pots, gates, buildings, and more. The garden was eventually purchased by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge in 1980. Currently, the villa complex and the garden is open to the public.
  9. Villa d’Este, Italy
The 16th-century villa is home to an incredible garden with 51 equally impressive fountains. The main building is a marvel as well as the other fountains that run on gravity alone. This makes it an achievement and thus, the terraced landscape became an inspiration for many Europeans to follow.
  10. Summer Palace, China
The summer palace is an architectural mix of historic pavilions, bridges, temples, and a hilly natural landscape. It was considered a “masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design” by UNESCO. It was designated a World Heritage Site in 1998.
  11. Controlled Garden Chaos, Netherlands
Landscape designer Piet Oudolf creates garden designs that favor masses of perennial plants and native grasses. He chooses them for their structure over fake grass or flowering plants that only last for a few months. His naturalistic landscapes are often surrounded by concrete, glass, and steel. (link fake grass to the landing page)
  12. The New Zen Garden, New York
Marc Peter is a native New Yorker who spent 18 years in Kyoto, Japan. He then returned to the USA to design gardens and teach landscape architecture. He approached this specific landscape project with high respect for Japanese traditions relying on irregularity, simplicity, and poetic symbolism.
  13. Modern Cali Cool, California
Terremoto founders David Godshall and Alain Peauroi believed that there was a growing need in California for landscaping that operated at a precise conceptual level. Their installations reflect the desire to bring more thought to the gardening business. They have a penchant for wild and messy gardens that are still inhabitable.
  14. Natural Brutalism, Chile
There are times where the geography of a landscape is so dominant that the only way to beautify it is to work around it or within it. This was what designer Teresa Moller did when she created a footpath along the endlessly damp coastline of a 27-acre land between Zapallar and Papudo.
  15. High Line, New York
Created on a former New York Central Railroad on the west side of Manhattan, the High Line is a 1.45 mile long elevated linear park, rail trail, and greenway. This abandoned spur was redesigned to become a “living system” that draws inspiration from multiple disciplines some of which include urban design, ecology, and architecture. The High Line has become a contemporary landscape architecture icon since opening to the public in 2009.
  16. Ranelagh Gardens, Dublin
The Ranelagh Gardens are public pleasure gardens located in Chelsea just outside of London. They were called as such because they occupied the site of Ranelagh House. It was built in 1688–89 by the Earl of Ranelagh and it was believed that he designed and built it himself. But the actual builder and owner was one Solomon Rieti, an Italian Jewish immigrant.
  17. Brigit’s Garden, Ireland
Brigit’s Garden is considered a sanctuary in the west of Ireland. It takes visitors on a magical journey into the very heart of Celtic heritage and mythology, easily making this a must-visit for tourists and locals alike. Set within 11 acres of wildflower meadows and native woodland, it is one of the most spectacular gardens in Ireland.
  18. Garden of Cosmic Speculation, Dumfries
The Garden of Cosmic Speculation is a 30-acre sculpture garden created by theorist and landscape architect Charles Jencks. The garden is inspired by modern cosmology, mathematics, and science. Sculptures and landscaping draw heavy inspiration from themes such as fractals and black holes. Although not as abundant with plants, it elegantly combines natural landscape with artificial symmetry and curves.
  19. Great Dixter, England
The Great Dixter is a house found in Northiam, East Sussex, England. Architect Edwin Lutyens combined an existing mid 15th-century house on the site from 1910-1912 with a similar structure brought from Benenden, Kent, and joined it together with his own additions. The garden is widely known for its one-of-a-kind tradition of sophisticated plantsmanship and is listed Grade 1 in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.
  20. Freedom Park, South Africa
This park is located on a 52-hectare site which also happens to be a vantage point offering visitors a panoramic view of the capital and beyond. The mandate of this park is the creation of a memorial and monument that will narrate a 3.6 billion year story following 7 epochs. The garden of memorial features a list of the names of those killed in the South African Wars, World War I, World War II as well as during the apartheid era.
There you have it, our top 20 landscapes!
We’re absolutely sure that there are more architectural wonders out there, we just can’t get over the ones that are on this list! You can use these projects as inspiration for your home or maybe a commercial space you’re working on. What do you think? Which one is your favorite? Whichever you choose, one thing is for certain, we are all lucky to live in a world filled with so much beauty and humans who can recreate the same beauty for everyone else to enjoy.
That’s why we here at MegaGrass strive to protect the environment through the use of our products. Is Paris dirty, really?
Is it a hard-to-expunge reputation, or a sad reality? Is Paris dirty, really? Despite their love for the City of Light, tourists seem to agree on the latter.
 Paris: adored worldwide
When I travel abroad, I pride myself on being a Parisian. I’m now well trained. As soon as I concede my nationality and the city where I live, the only evocation of Paris triggers a bounty of emotions and personal stories.
Suddenly, be it in a shop with a sales assistant or a restaurant with a waiter, time stops for that person. A flow of descriptions of places, anecdotes from their last visit to Paris are confided: shared with a perfect stranger and a foreigner. I indulge quite willingly in this cheerful exchange as I always end up, to my great delight, getting good tips and local recommendations about the city I’m visiting!
It also makes me feel thrilled and gratified to hear people simply declare their love for my hometown.
Naturally, my conversation partners tend to not only share their fond memories but also their frustrations. I am never surprised by the claims, as they are recurrent, almost clichés, in fact, among visitors who have come to Paris for decades, in no particular order: poor service, arrogance of the Parisians, lack of public restrooms, unsafe areas and so on and so forth.
 Paris: cleanliness questioned
As a matter of fact, I have just experienced one of these peculiar encounters in a shirt shop, in Little Havana, Miami.
The store manager had just spent a week in Paris and was ecstatic about his recent trip. He had been to the Eiffel Tower: “the Alain Ducasse restaurant on the second floor was so expensive but so good”.
And so as to make the image even more perfect I added: “Did you know the Macrons invited the Trumps to dine in  this very restaurant last July?”
“Everything went fine”, he continued, ”but let me tell you, Paris is dirty… horribly dirty”. Touchée.
If my face had been an emoji at that instant, perplexed and dumbfounded would have immediately followed naïve smiling. I agree Paris is not the epitome of cleanliness, but I would not have expected anyone to make it his unfavorable and lasting impression of the French capital!
Indeed, on a daily basis I’m quite furious when people drop garbage outside trash cans or don’t pick up their dog’s poop, but I have never judged a city by its cover. It has never occurred to me to do so. If so, I would, for instance, prefer Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, due to the relative positions on the cleanliness scale, and this is not the case.
 Paris: all things considered
However, with this remark in mind, on my return, I started examining Paris from a different perspective.
 ·         People walk long distances in the capital.
·         They have drinks and lunches on terraces, even in winter.
·         They smoke on the sidewalks.
·         Almost every bank ATM has a homeless person next to it.
·         Market stalls bursting with fruit and vegetables are assembled along the streets of each neighborhood.
When on my way from Porte Saint- Denis to Châtelet, during my fifteen-minute walk, I stumble upon prostitutes, Indian workers awaiting deliveries at street junctions from clothing retailers in Le Sentier, food delivery bikers, strollers and passers-by. And all of this in a street full of restaurants, porn shops, nail parlors, an organic bakery, passages (to name just a few),  to reach finally what used to be described as The Belly of Paris by Emile Zola, the main set of best-seller novel ‘Perfume’ by Patrick Süskind, and which shelters now the newly refurbished ‘Les Halles’ shopping center.
The French capital is a vibrant place, squeezed within a relatively small perimeter compared to other international cities such as London. Hence the accumulation of waste and dirt may be more visible here and harder to control as both live in harmony with intense human activity!
 Paris: any solutions?
Of course it is not that simple. Who would want to have their immediate surroundings stay dirty just because it appears to be a lost cause?
Huge  efforts and improvements have been carried out over the years in Paris in terms of urban waste management, and an impressive array of actions and services are detailed on the official Paris website.
As my friend Judy MacMahon (founder of MyFrenchLifeÔ magazine and probably the most knowledgeable person I have ever known on anything ‘French’) points out rightly “My view is that there is definitely less dog poop in Paris, these days, but Paris has lots of strong urine smells in the metro and other places and not only from street dwellers. I still find Paris dirty but paradoxically I find the street/footpath and gutter washing system amazing! That system is so far ahead of most others anywhere in the world!”
What is more, Paris dwellers have reacted to this criticism and taken initiatives to end this plight. They’ve formed associations, funded and encouraged by the authorities to preserve the environment, and make residents responsible for the quality of life ‘outside their window’. Many projects have been implemented or are in progress, such as the greening of streets, walls, the planting of shared gardens and around street trees.
I am certain, that, if tourists dared to wander further afield than the well-beaten-tracks of Paris tours, they would be delighted to discover those achievements. I believe it is one of the many facets of a new emerging Paris for a cleaner future.
 Paris: with a little help
Despite all these measures, Paris streets may still seem dirtier than any other comparable cities.
In New York, dog owners who leave pet poop in public places, face hefty fines and the law is aggressively enforced, whereas in Paris, there is only a 68 euro fine for littering, whether it be dog waste or cigarette butts! But, in Paris, I have never seen anyone caught ‘red-handed’!
This is definitively another issue in the struggle to maintain cleanliness in Paris. The law is not sufficient a deterrent.
I honestly feel, that describing Paris as a ‘dirty city’ is not accurate and does not do it justice!
Granted there are some problem areas that may deserve that description ,it goes without saying that this concerns everyone, but the actions of many will be required to make a positive contribution.
